The University and the embassy of Mexico will create a joint working group

The university will be presented by Maxim Homyakov, the Vice-rector for International Relations, Mexico will be presented by Juakin Postrano

The rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov and the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of United Mexican States in Russia Ruben Alberto Beltran Gerrero came to an agreement to create a joint working group.

Victor Koksharov offered to develop student exchange between the countries, and the ambassador offered to increase the flow of tourists and joint preparation of the foreign languages professors.

“We are working on entering top-100 world universities and we are interested on the attraction of foreign students and professors. Also we support our students who go for exchange programs abroad, - Victor Koksharov said. –   4 Mexican students are studying in our University.  I hope this number will be increased. In return, we are ready to provide them grants on the studying for the master degree”.

The ambassador appreciated the offer and noted that Mexico graduates about 110 thousand engineers annually, however the country needs more, and the specialists could be prepared by Ural Federal University also.

“I offer to create a working group of the embassy and the University, and to cooperate within this group.  The representative of the embassy will be my deputy Juakin Postrano who soon arrives to Moscow; he has worked before in Russia, studied here and he speaks Russian very well. It is important for us to cooperate in education field”, - said Ruben Beltran.

The working group of UrFU will be led by the Vice-rector for International Relations Maxim Khomyakov.

The second part of the ambassador’s visit was meeting with the students. Ruben Beltran gave a lecture which was called “125 years of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Russia”, told the students about tourism in Latin America, answered the questions and invited everybody to make a group photo.
