France will be closer to UrFU students

Center of French language and culture will open at Ural Federal University

In 2013 Victor Koksharov, UrFU Rector, signed an agreement on joining RLF – the linguistic network of universities working in partnership with the Embassy of France. The activities of the network are aimed at teaching French and promotion of the language among students; currently there are 60 universities in the network. The agreement signed by Ural Federal University provides for the establishment of the resource center for students and staff interested in French language and culture. The opening ceremony will take place on October 7 and will be attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in the Russian Federation. 

The priority tasks of the Center are:

 - informing UrFU students about the opportunities of participation in exchange programs with French universities and the scholarships of the French government

 - assisting students in taking international exams DELF/ DALF

 - informing students about the competitions and events organized by the Institut Francais and Alliance Francais

 - organization of internships and study trips to France and francophone countries

- organization of extracurricular activities related to French language and culture

Activities of the Center will not be limited to UrFU students and staff but also open for all interested people.
