Marie-Pierre Rey and Alexey Tereshchenko won Maurice Waksmaher’s Prize

The Russian translation of the book by UrFU Professor "L'effroyable tragédie: Une nouvelle histoire de la campagne de Russie" was recognized as the best translation by the jury of the French Embassy in the Russian Federation

The book «The terrible tragedy. A New Look at 1812» was written by the doctor of historical sciences, professor, head of UrFU Laboratory of Edition Archaeography and researcher of the University of Paris 1 (Pantheon-Sorbonne) Dr. Marie-Pierre Rey. The translation by Alexey Tereshchenko (ROSSPEN publishing house) won Maurice Waksmaher’s Prize.

The official annual awarding ceremony will be held on November 27 at the Book Fair “Non/Fiction”.

Maurice Vaksmaher’s Prize (Le prix Maurice-Wachsmacher) is annually presented by the French Embassy in Russia in two separate categories – the author of the best translated work in the humanities and the author of the best translation of fiction.
