Speaking Russian is not required if you apply for one of our English-taught Master's programs, doctoral programs in English or short-term summer and winter schools, as they are taught in the English medium.
For Master's programs in Russian and all Bachelor programs, Russian language is required. You can learn Russian at UrFU Russian Language School.
The Managers have to answer hundreds of emails every day, so please allow at least 24 hours for your request to be processed. Also please keep in mind that Saturday and Sunday are officially non-business days in Russia.

Studying on a Russian-taught program is possible after completing a preparatory year at the UrFU Russian Language School (or any other accredited Russian language school) and receiving a Russian language certificate.
Unfortunately, at the moment Ural Federal University does not offer international MBA courses.
Each year, the Russian government allocates a certain number of state-funded places at Russian universities for international students. You can apply for the Scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation at the website of the Ministry, russia.study. If you have any problems with the registration, please check this instruction.
Tuition fees at UrFU vary depending on which particular program you choose. Please check the lists of available educational programs in the Programs and Courses section. You will find the prices there, too.
There are discounts available for applicants who receive the required scores at the entrance exams. Please contact admission@urfu.ru for more information.
Please keep in mind that Ural Federal University does not claim any deposits for tuition fees or charge any additional registration fees for internal admission procedures (including application*, admission interviews, expert evaluation of educational documents etc).
If you are operating through recruitment agencies or private intermediaries that may require payments for their services — for these transactions the University has no financial liability.
*with the exception of the Stamp Duty fee (800 RUB) charged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for document processing for certain visa types.
Nothing. The invitation is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and takes at least 30 days to be prepared. If you do not receive your invitation 40 days after submitting the application, please contact the Admissions Office at admission@urfu.ru.
Please visit GUK-109 at least one month prior to the expiration date of your current visa. You will be consulted on the visa extension procedures.
Yes! A Buddy student can meet you at the airport and take you to the campus if you pay for the taxi rides. Please fill in and submit the Arrival Form or contact the UrFU Buddy System at least 3 days prior to your arrival.

Taxi
The easiest and most comfortable way to get to the University campus is to take a taxi. You can order a taxi through such apps as Uber, Gett or Yandex Taxi. The fare for the ride is between 400 and 1000 RUB depending on traffic.

Public Transport
Although we strongly advise you to take a taxi, you can still reach UrFU campus by public transport. The fare for one public transport ride is 28 RUB. Tickets are to be bought inside the vehicles.

As soon as you arrive, please visit the Admissions Office (Mira Street, 19, office GUK-109). You will be instructed on the further steps. Also, you can find detailed instructions and check-lists in our International Student Handbook.

The address of your dormitory building will be stated in your dormitory voucher, which you will receive at the Admissions Office (Mira Street, 19, office GUK-109). All dormitories offered to international students are within a walking distance from the main university building.
