The future of a major project for the Russian universities is being discussed in Ekaterinburg

XV Seminar Conference of Project 5-100 at Ural Federal University has started

On February 11-12, Ural Federal University hosts the two-day seminar-conference dedicated to the implementation of the Project 5-100. 500 representatives of universities from all over Russia will share experience, talk about their achievements, to replicate the best practices in their educational institutions. The program will cover such important issues for the Russian universities as the development of internationalization, research and innovation, publication activity, competent information policy, the improvement of educational programs, including open education format. There is direct dependence between successful development of these directions and the progress of the Russian universities in the world rankings.

An important feature of the seminar held in Ural Federal University is the participation of a serious pool of reputable world-class experts. The number of experts include Vice-President of IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence Waldemar Siwinsky, Managing Director of IREG Kazimierz Bilanow, chief editor of the QS rankings Ben Souter, President of the Association of Higher Education Strategy Associates and chief editor of Global Canadian edition Higher Education Strategy Monitor Alex Usher, blog editor of University Ranking Watch Richard Holmes, chief editor of RUR, the only Russian ranking of World Universities, Oleg Soloviev.

It not only provides resources, but also gives impetus to the serious transformational change, without which it is impossible to change the higher education in Russia for the better."

The seminar will be attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Alexander Povalko. On February 12, he will speak at a meeting of project offices, at a meeting of the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, dedicated to the implementation of the program "Ural Engineering School" and will review the best practices implemented by UrFU in the framework of the Project 5100.
