How to Improve Exhibition and Parking Space with Help of Chrysotile

Installation projects of small architectural forms in Ekaterinburg were presented by UrFU students

Among 117 projects of the All-Russian Creative Competition in the Development of Small Architectural Forms for the Improvement of Courtyards and Parking Territories Made with the Use of Chrysolite-cement Products, three students from Ural Federal University were reckoned among the best.

In the nomination called "Upgrading Project of Urban and landscape gardening environment" the first place was taken by UrFU student from the Institute of Civil Engineering Mikhail Zaychuk. He suggested installing benches, structures of the display space, flowerbeds and ramps for low-mobile groups of citizens, lanterns and bins by using piles and sheets made of chrysolite-cement (chrysotile) on the territory of the Children's Art School named after G.S. Mosina.

Other projects of UrFU students that entered the list of the best projects with the use of chrysotile included "Children's Playing Space in the Structure of the City Park" by Alexandra Mezentseva and "New concept of Engels` park in Ekaterinburg" by Vladislav Makan, Daria Shishlyaeva, Maria Petrova and Alena Sheina. They took the second place in the nominations "Project of Children's Playing Space" and "Creation of an Architectural Ensemble of a Territory with Reference to a Specific Area with Appropriate Concept for this Area".

According to the Executive Director of the Chrysotile Association Vladimir Galitsyn, the projects – either in whole or in part – will be put into implementation.

Future architects, builders and designers from Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Moscow, Irkutsk, Belgorod, Togliatti, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod presented their projects at the competition.

The competition was prepared by the non-profit organization “Chrysotile Association” together with UrFU Institute of Civil Engineering.
