UrFU trained coaches, checked health state of the fans and helped with transportation

From June 14 to July 15, Russia hosts the World Cup. Four of the matches took place in Ekaterinburg. Ural Federal University has made its contribution to a significant international event. The scientists and engineers have prepared several projects, connected to the Mundial.

To facilitate understanding and establishment of friendly contacts between residents of Russia and the guests of the world championship, the university specialists published the first edition on fan classifications, their features and existing stereotypes about football fans. It reveals differences between Russian and foreign fans.

In addition, the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy is working with the complex "Reakor", which is aimed at psychological, psychophysiological diagnostics, as well as diagnosis of the vegetative nervous system and the analysis of heart rate variability. The device is designed only for work with football fans, but also for psycho-physiological training and the formation of psycho-emotional stability of persons professionally associated with risk, high responsibility and hysical activity - athletes, employees of power structures, transport workers, operators, managers. It also provides training of stress-resistance skills and auto-training of a wide range of conditionally healthy persons - from schoolchildren and students to retired individuals and housewives. Experts develop and perfect programs for each group of people.

UrFU Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy also established a center for the preparation of UEFA football coaches of categories C and D. 25 people has already passed training.

To help football fans and other guests of Ekaterinburg, students of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technologies Aibek Khashimov and Valeriy Abeliants created a public transport tracking chat-bot for VK social network. According to the students, about 1,500 people used it during the World Cup; on average 600 people use it every day.

About 700 representatives of the university (employees and students) participated in the organization of the matches and work with the fans as volunteers.
