Bright start to the new school year

On September 3, 2018 five thousand first-year students will gather at the university square to celebrate "The First Day at Ural Federal University".

In the morning, freshmen will meet at the institutes with their classmates and lecturers, receive student passes and gifts from the university. By 14:00 the students will go to the main building on Mira 19. They will visit traditional Fair of Opportunities, where students will be shown what kind of activities they can get involved in while studying at one of the largest federal universities. The fair will feature science, innovation, creativity, university media, stand-up, sports and international activities.

The Rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov congratulated students and staff of the university on the beginning of the academic year:

"This wonderful holiday is precious to all generations. Bright memories of school and student years, wonderful lecturers and faithful friends remain in everyone's heart forever. The beginning of the new academic year is associated with new hopes."

Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia founded in 1920. UrFU is located in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, an economic, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia. The university is the project office of the Ural Interregional Research and Education Center "Advanced Industrial Technologies and Materials" designed for solving tasks of "Science" National Project.
