High Teaching Quality in Natural Sciences: UrFU Improves Positions in RUR Ranking

The university earned two positions since last year

Ural Federal University took the 14^th position among 41 Russian universities in the RUR World University Ranking: Natural Sciences. In the overall world ranking, UrFU holds the 458^th position.

“Physics, chemistry, mathematics – we are the leaders by number of publications and international collaborations”, says Vladimir Kruzhaev, UrFU’s Vice-rector for Research. “For example, the two QS Rankings by Subjects, which we are in, are Physics & Astronomy and Mathematics”.

According to the survey data, UrFU demonstrated highest results in the Teaching category. It earned two positions compared to last year.

The fifth edition of the World University Ranking: Natural Sciences was published by the RUR ranking agency together with Clarivate Analytics.

The authors of the ranking analyzed 800 leading universities from 84 countries of the world. After the survey, 625 universities from 71 countries were selected, which entered the Natural Sciences subject ranking. The RUR ranking is based on 20 indicators divided into four measurement groups: Teaching, Research, International Diversity and Financial Sustainability.

Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia founded in 1920. UrFU is located in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, an economic, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia.
