UrFU Graduate Student Helped Win a Silver Medal at the European Short Track Speed Skating Championships

Evgeniya Zakharova represented the Russian team

The Russian women’s team took the second place at the European Short Track Speed Skating Championships, which ended January 14 in Dordrecht (the Netherlands). The UrFU Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Youth Policy graduate student Evgeniya Zakharova also participated in the team.

The athletes won a gold medal in 3 000 m event. The team also included Ekaterina Efremenkova, Ekaterina Konstantinova, Sofia Prosvirnova and Emina Malagich.

In total, the Russian national team (male and female athletes) earned 10 medals: two gold, two silver and six bronze ones.
