Russian-German Summer School to Be Held in August

The educational forum will be held in Dortmund under the auspices of the President of the FRG

The best students of the Ural Federal University and the Dortmund Technical University will gather at a joint Russian-German summer school. The educational program which has already become traditional will be held on August 19-31 in Germany.

The industrial partners of the summer school are the German companies Willo and Schneider Electric, and PAO “Rosseti” from the Russian side. The school program also received support from Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Doctor Honoris Causa of UrFU. Mr. Steinmeier is expected to host students at his official residence.

‘In 2019, the main topics of the summer school will be energy and logistics, and for the first time the program will be supplemented with the classes dedicated to information technology. The students of Ural Power Engineering Institute and Institute of Radioelectronics and Information Technology will take part in the program on the part of UrFU. The selection process will be organized soon,’ UrFU representatives shared.

The school program will include lectures and practical classes, case studies, excursions, meetings with representatives of German energy enterprises. There also will be an entertainment program and cultural exchange.

The Russian-German Summer Energy School was held in 2015 for the first time and has already become traditional. In 2016, it was opened at the Ural Federal University by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a Dr. h.c. of UrFU and German Foreign Minister at the time, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
