International Students Showcased Excellent Russian Language Knowledge

UrFU held the annual Russian Language Days

Ural Federal University held the annual Russian Language Days dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin’s birth. Over the course of two days, 1^st year undergraduates studying the “Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language” course showed their achievements in learning Russian.

‘On the first day, there was a conference where master’s students spoke about their research papers on the Russian language and the Russian culture,’ Elizaveta Litovskaia, Assistant Professor at the Academic Department of the Russian Language for Foreign Students, said.

On the second day, as Ms. Litovskaia added, a concert was organized. International students performed famous Russian songs, and a theater organized for the purposes of learning Russian showed a musical based on the Soviet cartoon “In the Blue Sea, in White Foam”. Students presented humorous scenes describing the difficulties they faced in Russia.

At the concert, undergraduate students also presented a video in which students and teachers answered the most important questions about the Russian language, Russian culture, studying and the meaning of life.
