David Belyavsky Won Two Gold Medals at the European Games

UrFU student won all-around and pommel horse competitions

The European Games ended in Minsk on June 30. The Russian team became the leader in the number of medals. The graduate student of Ural Federal University, a gymnast David Belyavsky, won two gold medals in all-around and pommel horse competitions.

He scored 15.033 points in pommel horse competitions, the second place was taken by the gymnast from Ukrain Oleg Verniayev with a score of 14,900, the third was Andrey Likhovitsky (14,566) from Belarus. In the all-around competitions, UrFU student scored 85.465 points, Oleg Vernyaev - 84.632. The third was another Russian sportsman Vladislav Polyashov (84,464).

The European games were held in Belarus on June 21 - 30. They were attended by athletes from 50 countries, they competed in 15 sports in 23 disciplines.

Russia finished the competition with the number of medals won - 44 gold, 23 silver and 42 bronze.
