Academic choir of the University took the Grand Prix at the international contest in Rimini

The UrFU academic choir took the Grand Prix at the XIII International choral competition Città di Rimini (Rimini, Italy). The band performed at this international contest for the first time, and it was the first time the Russians won the Grand Prix. Moreover, at Città di Rimini, the UrFU choir won gold in two categories: "Church music" and "Mixed choirs".

"Many thanks to everyone who was rooting for us. We sing for you!"— said the head of the academic choir of the Ural Federal University Svetlana Dolnikovskaya.

The contest was held from 19 to 22 September. Eight choirs - winners in various categories participated in the final show. The UrFU choir (as a Grand Prix winner) got the opportunity to take part in the world championship among choirs, which will take place in 2020.

It should be reminded that the UrFU academic choir was revived by Svetlana Dolnikovskaya in 2003. The band consists of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students. The choir has already won 11 Grand Prix of international choral competitions in Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia and other countries, has been in the first place 32 times, has taken second and third places a number of times.
