And the partner of the university “SKB Kontur”, was ranked second among companies in the world

The team of the Ural Federal University became third in the International Programming Contest CodinGame Spring Challenge 2020. And the team of the university’s partner, “SKB Kontur”, took the second place in the world and the first place in Russia in the ranking of companies. For the first time, special ratings for companies and universities were made in addition to individual ratings. The final score was calculated according to the results of five best team members.

For most participants, bot-building skills for gaming is, of course, an entertainment, but a useful one. Bot-building develops various personal skills: participants come up with ideas, test them in practice and learn to implement them. As a rule, fast bots without bugs bring victory. Therefore, one has to develop analytical skills, debugging, profiling and code optimization skills. And besides, tricky algorithms often help in bot-building, ”said Pavel Egorov, a competitor, senior lecturer and head of educational program “Fundamental informatics and information technologies” at UrFU, head of training department at “SKB Kontur”.

This year more than 5000 programmers from around the world took part in the competition held for ten days. Among the first winners of the contest were also University of Wrocław, Poland (1st place) and Paris's École 42, France (3rd place).
