UrFU Organized a Meeting of International Thematic Group of BRICS Network University

The International Thematic Group on BRICS Studies of BRICS NU held an online discussion on June, 23.

On June, 23,the International Thematic Group of BRICS Network University on BRICS Studies chaired by Ural Federal University since 2015, exchanged views and opinions on the current developments of BRICS NU and its concept which is going to be discussed during the next meeting of BRICS Ministers of education.

Representatives from Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Fudan University (China), Unicamp (Brazil) and Jamia Millia Islamia (India) discussed perspectives of BRICS Network University, its current concept and the road map. The participants of the ITG looked at responsibilities and agenda for BRICS NU actors in the framework of the new concept as well as further joint programmes developments which have to adhere to national quality assurance guidelines.

Stellenbosch university and UrFU also discussed the perspectives of a joint MA program in the framework of BRICS Studies. It was a productive exchange of opinions and ideas, and a relief to see that old friends and colleagues are safe and sound in this difficult pandemic situation.

The last big meeting of BRICS Network university was held in July, 2018 at Stellenbosch university. UrFU is convenor of the International Thematic Group «BRICS Studies», represented by Maria Guzikova, director of UrFU Department of international relations.
