Students Successfully Defend Candidate of Sciences, PhD Dissertations

One of them, a student from India, A. Hossein, has shared with us his feelings after being awarded Candidate of Chemical Sciences

The defenses of candidate dissertations is underway at the Ural Federal University as usual. One of the students, Aslam Hossein, a young scientist from India, successfully defended his candidate's (PhD) dissertation.

“The day of my defense was one of the best in my career,” says Aslam. - I was very excited that I would be awarded a degree - PhD in Chemistry. The theme of my work is on renewable energy materials, and I am very glad that my efforts have received due praise. I thank the scientists of UrFU, all members of the commission and opponents for their participation and activity. They successfully organized my defense in a critical situation during a pandemic. The Council awarded me the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences.”

Looking back at the years spent at the university, Aslam says that he gained invaluable experience.

“All my colleagues were very attentive and ready to help,” says Aslam. - Although I worked here with different people, they were all very open. UrFU has all the necessary scientific equipment for research, along with subscriptions to journals and access to the necessary databases. Thus, during my work at UrFU I published about 30 articles in publications indexed in the Scopus and Web of science databases.”

Aslam notes that in graduate school, the support of a supervisor is a very important factor. Its supervisor was Professor Vladimir Cherepanov.

“This is a very good person who seriously helped me. He spent a lot of time with me during the preparation of the dissertation and other scientific works. I admire everyone I met here. Therefore, I highly recommend that other students and young scientists obtain a degree at UrFU. This is a world-class university. ”
