Students from China graduated from the undergraduate program 'Construction'

The defense of the first final qualification works of the joint undergraduate program "Construction", implemented by the Ural Federal University with the North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower, was held on June 26 in a remote format.

Students prepared for defense while at home in the People's Republic of China, but worked a lot with teachers in special disciplines, with diploma managers, and with a Russian language teacher. Students prepared the design of the 16-story and 14-story residential buildings of the Akademichesky planning area in Yekaterinburg, the design of the 18-story residential building in Tyumen, the 10-story residential building with underground parking on ul. Kourovskaya, 13 in Yekaterinburg. The defense was led by Igor Melnikov, Chairman of the State Examination Commission, Director of the Kvartal Design Bureau LLC.

“It was very difficult to study in Russia, at the Ural Federal University,” said the head of the group, Xu Wenxuan. - But studying at UrFU is a very valuable time and a good store of knowledge for further professional activities. Now I plan to go for Master's in a joint program of universities."

Students of an educational project study according to a curriculum agreed and approved by two universities. All disciplines are taught in Russian. Teachers of Ural Federal University in the preparation and implementation of educational content also interact with colleagues from North China University of Water Resources.

“A joint educational project is important not only for our two universities in terms of increasing the requirements and quality of the educational product, but also for developing cooperation between our two countries to create a single educational space, developing international cooperation, strengthening the economic foundation of the countries,” says the Director of Education Ural Federal University Sergei Knyazev.

In addition, in June, an assessment of a joint project of the Ural Federal University with the Hainan Institute of Economics and Business - the Ural Institute of Hainan. Accreditation of the project is carried out by the Ministry of Education of the PRC.

“It is important for us to show the results of the implementation of existing programs, it is especially important that the first joint baccalaureate program successfully issued the first bachelors. This will allow us to develop cooperation and increase the number of joint programs with Chinese universities, ”says Alena Nevolina, head of the academic development department, head of the project“ Creating and implementing joint educational projects with Chinese universities ”.

In 2016, the Ural Federal University with the North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower received a license from the Ministry of Education of the PRC to implement the joint undergraduate program "Construction" (the annual admission to the program is 120 prospects). In 2018, partners received a license from the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China for the activities of the joint Ural Institute, which implements four further joint undergraduate programs: “Water Supply and Sanitation”, “Architecture”, “Geodesy and Remote Sensing”, “Heat and Power Engineering” (annual set for programs - 240 people). Currently, 938 Chinese citizens are studying under this project.
