UrFU and Hainan Institute of Economics and Business launch a joint educational project

The government of South China's island province Hainan recently approved a joint cooperation project of Ural Federal University and Hainan Institute of Economics and Business. In the frame of the project, Ural Institute of Hainan Institute of Economics and Business will be established in Jiangdong District. The Ural Institute will be a joint vocational and technical educational institution for full-time study.

“For Ural Federal University this is the second such project. UrFU already implements 5 joint educational programs with Ural Institute of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU). 932 students from China are currently studying under this project, and 400 additional places are available in 2020,” – informs UrFU Rector Victor Koksharov.

As the government of Hainan province reports, they attach great importance to expanding external relations in the field of education. The establishment of the new educational institution with UrFU is aimed at developing innovative models in training highly qualified specialists, increasing the level of internationalization of the organization and assisting in the construction of the Hainan free-trade port.

According to this project, the Ural Institute of Hainan Institute of Economics and Business will launch 4 educational programmes in tourism management, financial management, computer software technologies and technologies for integration of electronic and mechanical systems. The period of study will be 3 years.

In accordance with the State's admission plan, this joint educational institution will enroll 200 students every year starting in 2020.

Hainan Institute of Economics and Business was established in 1984 and is located in the new Jiangdong district of Haikou, the administrative center of Hainan province. The Institute offers 38 majors and has 12,000 students.

Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia founded in 1920. UrFU is located in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, an economic, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia. The university is the project office of the Ural Interregional Research and Education Center "Advanced Industrial Technologies and Materials" designed for solving tasks of "Science" National Project.
