On November 4, 2020, one of the Chinese partner universities of the Ural Federal University, the Guangdong University of Foreign Languages, located in Guangzhou, China, celebrates its 55th anniversary.

Thanks to long-term cooperation between universities, the first Confucius Institute in the Urals was opened in 2008, which specializes in teaching Chinese for residents of the region, holding international examinations in the Chinese language and organizing cultural, educational, scientific, sports and other events at various levels. In December last year, the Confucius Institute of UrFU was awarded the honorary title of the Confucius Institute of the Year 2019, testifying to the fruitful joint activities of the two universities.

Guangdong University of Foreign Languages ​​(GDUFS) is a large internationalized university in South China, formed during the merger of the Guangdong Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and the Guangdong Institute of Foreign Trade.

The university includes 24 faculties offering over 50 undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in literature, economics, management, law, engineering, science, education and art, including in foreign languages.
