Graduate School of Economics and Management Gets Its Program Into 1% of the World-Class Education Elite

World Economy and International Business Program receives EFMD Accreditation again

The educational program International Economy and International Business of the Graduate School of Economics and Management of Ural Federal University was audited by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). Reputable international accreditation confirms the compliance of the education program with preparing graduates for a global career. In Russia, only two educational programs are accredited by the EFMD, joining the 1% of the overseas world-class education elite.

About 60 people took part in remote meetings with experts of the fund - the rector of UrFU, representatives of the Graduate School of Economics and Management, heads of departments involved in the implementation of the program, the team of the program office, teachers, students, alumni, corporate partners, departments of international cooperation, scientific development and technical provision of UrFU and GSEM UrFU.

“Reaccreditation of the program means an annual audit, constant implementation of innovative methods while maintaining the same quality of training for economists. The program is a driver of changes in the entire institute,” said Director of GSEM UrFU Dmitry Tolmachev.

The experts positively assessed the development strategy of the program, the quality of the international teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, the variety of forms of presentation of the material, the structure for assessing the progress of students and the demand for graduates in the real economy and business.

“I am proud of my colleagues - we really have a dream team, with which we managed not only to build a new corporate culture, but also a really deep program for the development of intellectual and professional competencies. I am also proud of the students - it's nice to be in touch and learn from alumni working in more than 30 countries. We have an ambitious vision of the development strategy of the program-driver of many positive changes in the institute,” said program's head Zhanna Belyaeva.

During the announcement of the preliminary results, the members of the commission noted significant positive changes in the program, including the level of internationalization, professionalism of teachers and the introduction of advanced technologies in the learning process, opportunities for student development, corporate ties and the involvement of alumni.
