The first developments in the field of mechanical engineering are launched

The Engineering Center for Digital Machine Building Technologies of Ural Federal University has completed the development of a series of projects together with Harbin Institute of Technology. In particular, simulation of deformation and vibration of the car body was implemented.

The work was carried out due to the opening of the China-Russia Center for the Development of Digital Machine Building Technology. The center will be located in the Zhenjiang High Technology Zone in China.

In addition, representatives of the center took part in a forum on digitalization of industry at the Shenzhen Industrial Park in Harbin. The university was represented at the forum by Alexander Likhachev, Head of the Digital Transformation Department of the Engineering Center of Digital Machine Building Technologies. He shared his engineering experience and spoke about the digital twins of the product.

"At the forum I spoke in detail about the technologies with which the technical specialists of the center successfully create digital prototypes of the required products, the software architecture of the "digital twin", the stages of comprehensive product development, product life cycle support using "digital twin" technologies, the main advantages of using end-to-end digital design technologies on the example of an already implemented project," said Alexander Likhachev.

The Engineering Center for Digital Engineering Technologies was created in 2019 on the basis of the Ural Federal University in partnership with Advance Engineering LLC and is part of the university's innovation infrastructure. The center deals with digital modeling, which helps reduce the time to create and test various parts. The center uses "digital twin" technology, meaning a digital model that undergoes all testing in a digital space. All calculations, tests, and experiments can be performed on the digital model.
