Victor Koksharov: "The 5-100 Project Has Changed Our Motivation"

The results of the competitiveness program were summed up at the university

Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University, spoke about the results of the Competitiveness Enhancement Program. The university awarded 185 administrators and project team leaders of the 5-100 Project.

"We had to completely change our vision for the development of the university, and it worked. During the years of the 5-100 Project, we increased the number of publications by seven times, the percentage of international faculty by 21 times, and the percentage of international students by five times. We managed to grow by almost 300 positions in the QS world ranking and break into the top 100 of three subject rankings," emphasized Victor Koksharov.

According to the rector, the 5-100 Project was a serious motivation for the development of faculty, researchers, and students at the university. As a result, the university chose the research track and is preparing the application to participate in the new large-scale program "Priority-2030".

The implementation of the projects of the University Competitiveness Enhancement Program involves two thirds of the Ural Federal University core staff - more than 2,700 people. Over seven years, 446 projects and events have been implemented to develop scientific work, support students and young scientists, implement networking educational programs, and improve the university's international reputation.

"Dear colleagues, thank you very much for your willingness to face new challenges. I believe that we have gained a lot of excellent results over these years," said Daniil Sandler, First Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development.

People involved in the implementation of projects and activities of the 5-100 Project were awarded certificates of honor, diplomas and letters of gratitude from Ural Federal University, along with memorable gifts. Congratulations were given to team leaders and administrators responsible for supporting the competitiveness enhancement program, as well as participants of public projects.
