Rector and Chairman of the University Supervisory Board congratulated students and teachers on Knowledge Day

Lecturers, students, postgraduate students and faculty of Ural Federal University celebrate Knowledge Day. Rector Victor Koksharov and Dmitry Pumpyansky, Chairman of the Ural Federal University's Supervisory Board, congratulated the university's staff on the celebration.

"Your future directly depends on your efforts, perseverance and patience. Try to make the most of the opportunities that UrFU gives you. The university is trying its best to ensure that your education corresponds to the best Russian and international standards - and the growth of its position in Russian and foreign rankings eloquently confirms it," Victor Koksharov addressed to the students.

According to the Rector, the university faculty consists of a large number of excellent teachers able to train well-educated and worthy professionals. Victor Koksharov wished students and lecturers a lot of new knowledge, discoveries and bright impressions.

"Knowledge Day is always a new stage of work for both students and the university itself. Through our joint efforts, we are building a modern university - a strong, efficient, competitive one. UrFU is entrusted with the strategic task of creating a powerful intellectual center in the region and realizing its potential in science, education, and innovation," said Dmitry Pumpyanskiy.

The Chairman of the Board emphasizes that the personal achievements of each student and graduate student are equally important. All improvements are aimed at increasing the level of the educational process and forming potential growth opportunities for future specialists.

The Knowledge Day events will continue at UrFU all week long. On September 1st first-year students will meet at institutes to get acquainted with professors and classmates, receive student ID cards and special gifts, and at 6 p.m. students will have an online Student Union show where they will talk about their academic and extracurricular experience, be initiated into the freshmen program and win prizes.

On September 3rd students will take part in a quiz, and on September 4th students will become acquainted with student organizations in Ekaterinburg academic buildings and landmark locations at a special quest. On that day, a university festival will be held near the main academic building of UrFU. The festival will end with the screening of films for the university's 100th anniversary.
