Ural Federal University and Slovak University of Technology Signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The agreement covers cooperation in the fields of culture, science and education

On November 12, during the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ural Federal University and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU). The meeting was attended by Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University, and Oliver Moravěžk, Rector of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

The Memorandum is signed in the fields of higher education, research and culture in order to establish mutually beneficial partnership, development of educational and research activities.

First of all, the university is going to develop a partnership in the field of materials science and IT. Joint projects are planned with the departments of construction, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical and food technology, architecture, materials technology, and computer science.

UrFU scientists, together with STU scientists, have applied for a grant for the project "Promising Semiconductor Detectors for Nuclear Physics".

Reference

From 2016 to 2021, UrFU has had 35 joint publications with colleagues from Slovakia, mostly with the Slovak Academy of Sciences (25 publications).
