From June 1 to November 12, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation held a marathon of the best practices in the use of new technologies in training, education, and socialization of students with disabilities and persons with disabilities in Russian universities among higher education institutions. The work of Ural Federal University was recognized as the best.

UrFU's inclusive practice won the marathon Adaptation Online Module for People with Special Needs and Disabilities - it was named the best in the Innovative Approach to Learning category. Natalya Rudakova, director of the Center for Inclusive Education, presented the presentation on inclusive education at UrFU on November 19 at the award ceremony.

"A total of 56 organizations participated in the competition. There were three nominations: "Innovative Approach to Learning"; "Modern Educational Technologies" and "Experience of Successful Socialization". We submitted three applications, one in each category. We understood that all three of our entries could not win - and other universities must participate and win. The experts of the competition noted the Ural Federal University's great success in inclusive education," notes Alena Nevolina, head of the Ural Federal University's Academic Development Department.

According to Galina Tkachuk, deputy head of the Academic Development Department, the expert council was very representative: it included employees of the Ministry of Education and Science, directors of RUMC, and State Duma deputies.The best practices will be published in a collection of marathon materials, the presentation of which is scheduled for December 3 on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
