The second educational forum of the university started in Sochi

117 students from 55 Russian universities and 27 regions - Sochi hosted the opening of the Ural Federal University's educational forum in two areas of the "I am a Professional" competition: software engineering and radio engineering. The program includes an educational block, trainings to develop flexible skills, and team competitions.

"At these schools we always see the most enthusiastic young technicians, ready to contribute to their future and even the future of the country. Participants expect five intensive and unique days, with lectures and master classes on key trends in IT and radio engineering: artificial intelligence, data visualization, robotization of processes, information security, product thinking, etc. At the end of the forum, the organizers will determine the best participants in team and individual scoring," said Alexey Agafonov, Deputy General Director of the "Russia - Land of Opportunities" platform.

Now the participants will get acquainted with leading specialists from IT departments of Pipe Metallurgical Company, Sinara Group, Sber, the Central Bank of Russia, Keysight and other companies. In addition, career counseling, a job and internship marathon from Pipe Metallurgical Company and Sinara Group companies are planned.

"For the forum on software engineering and radio engineering, we have invited leading experts from employer companies with which our university has joint master's programs. In addition, IT students will find useful special training sessions in flexible skills from Ural Federal University psychologists and Pipe Metallurgical Company business trainers: forum participants will learn how to manage time, avoid conflicts, develop creativity and public speaking skills. Many of the students will be able to get invitations for internships and work placements during the forum - for this purpose a career marathon and consultations with HR-specialists are organized," said Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University.

The forum develops teamwork skills, which is especially important for IT professionals. Psychologists and business coaches will determine a comfortable role for each participant in the team and offer to develop video projects on the most demanded professional and flexible skills in the industry.

"The rapidly developing world of information technology and radioelectronics requires more and more innovative ideas, proven hypotheses, persistent and talented teams capable of bringing entire industries to a new level. We are convinced that success-oriented students of profile areas, including participants of the educational forum, are capable of generating and implementing them. To do this, experts need to give students feedback, show current trends, and help them to approach product development and idea testing in the right way. Such tasks are solved by the forum's program, one of the final events of which will be the presentation of business ideas. It will be a logical continuation of the online marathon "I have my own project!", which we launched in November 2021," said Ilya Obabkov, director of the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems of Ural Federal University.

The forum will last until February 16, the distinguished students will receive prizes from UrFU and Pipe Metallurgical Company and will be invited to internships in Russian companies.
