Agreements with Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia are reached

The Ural Federal University is going to develop the Specialist's degree program in pharmaceutical technology in cooperation with leading industrial partners and the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The agreement was reached during the meeting of University Heads in Ekaterinburg.

"We are open and do not intend to close ourselves off. I am sure we have similar goals and objectives, which will allow us to move to active network cooperation in the near future," emphasized Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

As Ilya Vorotintsev, Acting Rector of the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, noted, the signed Agreement on Cooperation will increase the scientific potential of both universities, consolidate and develop knowledge in the field of chemical technologies, and open up new prospects for students.

"Each side has a rich history and strong scientific schools in priority areas. I am confident that the further development of our partnership will produce a powerful synergetic effect," Vorotyntsev said.

In addition, he offered methodological support for the launch of the Mendeleev Class project in Sverdlovsk Region, which is successfully implemented by the university, emphasizing the importance of school preparation in chemistry.

"We are also interested in encouraging a fondness for chemistry among eighth-graders, and we are working with partner schools. In cooperation with Mendeleev University in science we will focus on chemical technology of biologically active substances. We are especially interested in the experience of our colleagues in partnership with key employers," added Mikhail Varaksin, Director of the Ural Federal University Institute of Chemical Engineering.

Ilya Vorotyntsev also inspected one of the key innovative facilities of UrFU - the Innovation Center of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technologies.
