The Ural Federal University has signed an acceptance certificate for the building at 8 Fonvizina St. The "LSR" Group (a Russian company engaged in the production of building materials, development and real estate construction) has completed the construction of a new 16-floor dormitory building No. 9. From September 1, 2023 it will accommodate 1,328 students.

"The lack of places in student dormitories and the condition of residential buildings are serious problems faced by many educational institutions, and we are proud to help solve them," said Vladimir Kritskiy, General Director of LSR. - We already have a positive experience of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Ural Federal University. We hope to continue it.

The accommodation of the students is organized in residential cells, which include two rooms, a hall, a kitchen unit with a niche and a separate bathroom. There are a total of 332 such cells, 17 of which are multifunctional cells for the possible accommodation of young people with special needs.The kitchens are equipped with an electric stove, fridge, worktables and wall cupboards with a dish dryer. In the rooms there are beds, bedside tables, chairs, desks, and wardrobes. The halls have coat hangers with a hat rack and a shoe rack.

"The new dormitory, located on the site of a 1934 emergency building, will accommodate up to three times the number of students. The project is characterized by modern equipment and comfortable furniture, as well as by the accessibility of the infrastructure for students with special needs. We have provided everything necessary for students to feel comfortable and safe while they study and rest," emphasized Victor Koksharov, Rector of the UrFU.

Each floor of the new dormitory has study rooms with desks and bookcases. There are also lounge areas with upholstered furniture, laundry, ironing and drying rooms. Four elevators connect the floors of the new dormitory. The courtyard has a recreation area with 50 trees, 265 bushes and 310 perennial flowers.

LSR Group has paid special attention to security issues. Access to the building is controlled by a special access control system. The dormitory is also equipped with a video surveillance system and a fire alarm system.

The first residents of the dormitory were 300 students from different parts of Russia. They were participants of the event "Test Drive at the Urals Federal University", which was held at the university on April 1-2.
