Universities of Russia and Germany Are Looking to the Future Together

UrFU Rector has become the chairman of the Assembly of the leading Russian and Germany universities

Representatives of the Ural Federal University take an active part in the work of the III International Students Forum in Germany, which is held in Berlin, 3-6 October 2012.

On 4 October UrFU Rector Viktor Koksharov is opening the Russian-German Assembly of university rectors together with the President of St.Petersburg State University Ludmila Verbitskaya. The rectors’ meeting will be devoted to ambitious infrastructure projects, internationalisation of higher education, modern conceptions of university management, successful practices of creating international educational communities aimed at realizing global projects.

University leaders will also talk about the Russian and European experience of developing joint educational programmes and the regional aspects of Russian-German dialogue in the sphere of language, culture and mentality. The discussion will be moderated by Viktor Koksharov and Aleksey Zavarzin, Vice-Rector of the St.Petersburg State University.

The meeting is expected to end with an official signing of the Rectors’ Assembly Resolution.

In the meanwhile the students of the Ural Federal University Daria Bykova, Alina Vasilieva and Elizaveta Lobova together with students from other Russian and German universities will be working at the forum sections, debating vital problems in the sphere of education, youth and student exchanges.

III International Student Forum is a part of the Russia-Germany crossover year. Its participants are students, professors and rectors of the leading Russian and German universities. State officials, scientists and artists, businessmen and representatives of youth organizations are also going to attend the Forum.
