Meeting With Palestine Students Was Held at UrFU

Possible assistance in living in Ekaterinburg, studying Russian language and culture was discussed

Yesterday UrFU hosted a meeting with 6 students from Palestine on the initiative of the Ekaterinburg branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society. Representatives of the all-Russian scout movement "Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders" came to meet with the students. Sergey Tushin, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University, was the organizer on the part of UrFU.

The purpose of the meeting on the part of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society was to get acquainted with the Palestinian students, discuss possible assistance in living in Ekaterinburg, studying Russian language and culture. In addition, the students were given food packages.

Currently UrFU provides support to students from Palestine in the form of psychological support and material assistance.

The International Public Organization "Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society" is the oldest non-governmental organization in Russia, established in 1882 by the Decree of Emperor Alexander III, whose objectives are to promote Orthodox pilgrimage to the Holy Land, scientific Palestinian studies and humanitarian cooperation with the peoples of the Middle East.

"The Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders" is a public organization uniting children, teenagers and young people of different countries, open to all. The FPO has been operating with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia since 1991. To realize its educational goals, the Brotherhood uses the scouting method.
