UrFU and the Beijing Institute of Technology signed an inter-university memorandum

Creation of joint scientific laboratories and centers, research, and development of publication activity - these and other initiatives formed the basis of the agreement between the universities.

"The Ural Federal University and the Beijing Institute of Technology have been actively developing relations since 2010. They are mainly related to scientific developments in the field of materials science. In parallel with the visit of our delegation to the People's Republic of China, experts from the material science institutes of the two universities held an online Sino-Russian seminar on the design, preparation, and application of advanced materials, as well as organized discussions on the scientific design, synthesis and application of alloys, polymers and other advanced materials. Today, new research prospects are opening up between our universities in the fields of new energy, green economy, smart technologies, Oriental studies, public administration and social policy, etc.", said Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU, at the memorandum signing ceremony.

The Beijing Institute of Technology administration has taken the initiative to promote in-depth exchanges and interactions among faculty members and the training of interdisciplinary professionals. At present, seven students from UrFU institutes - Institute of Physics and Technology, Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems, Institute of New Materials and Technologies, Ural Institute of Humanities, Graduate School of Economics and Management - are studying at the Beijing Institute of Technology as exchange students. Beijing Institute of Technology is willing to accept students of science and engineering beyond the quota and nominate them for scholarships from the Chinese government.

Alexey Klyuev, Director of the School of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, proposed that the School of Global Management and the School of Management at the Beijing Institute of Technology open a joint postgraduate program in "State and Municipal Management," launch an undergraduate exchange program in "Public Administration" in English, and hold a "Student Think Tank" summer school to improve the quality of city and regional management.
