The Volunteer Resource Center of the WFG 2024 based on Volural welcomed the first candidates: the official opening ceremony took place on May 20 at the "Boiling Point of UrFU". The guests were welcomed by Alexander Chernov, Head of the Organizing Committee's division in Ekaterinburg, Evgenia Sozykina, Deputy Director of the Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Anastasia Kondrashova, Head of the Volunteer Program of the Games, and Dmitry Loevsky, Vice-Rector of UrFU for Educational Work.

"It is a big part for us to win this difficult competition that gives us the right to be a resource center: more than 400 centers applied and only 20 became winners. Volural has extensive experience in supporting major events: the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the World Youth Festival, the Games of the Future in Kazan, and much, much more," said Dmitry Loevsky.

The Resource Center will have to select 2,000 volunteers who will be distributed across 20 functional areas: competition organization, sports timing, ceremonies, facilities management, and others. Specialists of the center are already conducting the first interviews with candidates.

As always volunteers will receive a unique set of equipment, will have training sessions, meals during the shifts, accommodation for non-resident volunteers, free public transportation, and life insurance.

The World Friendship Games 2024 is a large-scale tournament that will be held from September 15 to 29 in two organizing cities Moscow and Ekaterinburg and will attract about 7,500 volunteers. 5,500 people are planned to be involved in the competitions in Moscow and another 2,000 in the Urals capital.
