University Basketball Players Won the Belov League Cup for the First Time

The Ural Federal University men's basketball team won the main trophy of the season: the Belov League Cup, for the first time in its history and became the champions of the University Basketball Association.

"This is a great event that the team has been moving towards for a long time, but the more valuable is the victory! We are proud of the guys and the fact that they were able to show a first-class game. Many thanks to the team coach Oleg Zverev," the university said.

The most valuable player (MVP) of the superfinal was Alexander Murza, a Master's student of "Sport and Recreation Services Technologies": he brought the team 21 points, and made five rebounds and three assists. Azamatgeri Khakunov, a student of Adaptive Physical Culture, also made it to the symbolic five.

The women's basketball team took fourth place in this year's Belov League. Anastasia Chekareva was included in the symbolic five of the tournament.
