Yandex Educational Module Will Appear in the University

Education.Yandex has developed unified programs for future front-end and back-end developers, which will be launched at 19 universities across Russia starting in the new academic year. The modules will be integrated into university courses and reinforced with applied disciplines and Yandex cases. In Ekaterinburg students of the Ural Federal University will receive the training.

Second- and third-year students will learn Python and JavaScript, Django backend, working with API services, object-oriented programming, server infrastructure management, and other topics that will enable them to master in-demand IT skills. Programs include project work and hands-on workshops with industry case studies. Students' final projects are evaluated by both instructors and practitioners from Yandex.

“For the first time, Yandex is launching educational programs at 19 universities in 12 regions. By expanding the number of partner universities, we are making high-quality IT education available to students from all over the country. The new Yandex courses will not only raise the level of IT education in the country, but also contribute to the development of the IT industry in the regions”, says Daria Kozlova, Director of Yandex Education.

In addition to the content of the modules, the company has prepared a course for assistants and teachers to familiarize them with the practices of hybrid and online education, interactive methods of teaching IT disciplines, as well as the processes of evaluation and review of IT projects. The programs will be taught by current Yandex employees.

Yandex educational programs will open in September 2024 in Kazan, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Vladivostok, Tomsk, Arkhangelsk, Stavropol, St. Petersburg and Moscow. The partners were Lobachevsky University (UNN), Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI", Tomsk Polytechnic University, University of Tyumen, MIREA – Russian Technological University, National University of Science and Technology MISiS, UrFU, Financial University, Siberian State Medical University, Far Eastern Federal University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, HSE University Saint Petersburg, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Omsk State Technical University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Northern (Arctic) Federal University and North Caucasus Federal University.
