The Ural Federal University hosted the opening ceremony of a stand with photos of famous Chinese graduates. It presents 10 graduates of the university who hold high positions in the government or head large organizations. Victor Koksharov also emphasized that cooperation and friendship between Russia and China are more important and valuable today than ever before. The ties between the two countries have historical roots and are based on deep respect and cross-cultural communication.

"Russia highly appreciates China's openness and willingness to cooperate, including in the field of personnel training, development of science, education and culture. For young students from China, these graduates are worthy examples of selfless work for the benefit of the motherland, realization of their vocation, and success in their profession", said the Rector of UrFU.

The list of famous alumni and their achievements is truly impressive. Among them are Guo Shuyang, a metallurgy graduate who has made a significant contribution to the scientific, technological, and economic construction of his country; Dai Shunzhi, a chemical engineering graduate who has done a lot of productive work in China's chemical industry; and Li Jin, a unique graduate who simultaneously graduated from the Ural Polytechnic Institute and the Ural State University. Today he is a well-known expert in the field of satellite navigation technology.

Another vivid example is Jiang Jing, a well-known expert in the field of public policy and economics, who is the president of the Chinese Alumni Association of the University. She attended the opening ceremony of the booth and said many warm words about the university and its teachers.

"I am very honored, I would like to thank the university for creating such a booth. Together with other graduates from China, I am grateful to receive a quality education here. I would like to thank the teachers for their work, patience, and ability to teach us the necessary knowledge. Of course, I would like to address our young people - having received a diploma from UrFU, you can build a good career. I am sure that every year there will be more and more students from China at our home university", said Jiang Jing.

Jiang Jing also noted that Chinese alumni of UrFU have already established an endowment fund. The income from the fund will be used to support Chinese students - through scholarships for the most talented and successful students, as well as for the implementation of their projects. It was Jiang Jing who made the first donation to the fund.

The stand also displays photos and biographical descriptions of famous alumni of the university such as Ma Fukang, Jin Yong, Jiang Junzhao, Sun Haoxin, and Mu Ke.

As a reminder, in 2014 alumni living in China founded the Chinese Alumni Association of UPI, USU and UrFU. In total, the Ural Federal University has trained more than 1,200 specialists for China, several whom have achieved high government positions and public recognition.

The opening ceremony was attended by Wang Tong, Acting Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Ekaterinburg, Sun Zhuangzhi, Director of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as students and teachers.
