University to Improve the Quality of Russian Language Teaching in Mongolia

New opportunities are opening up for Mongolian students studying Russian for higher education in Russia. The Presidential Grants Fund supported the project of the Sverdlovsk Regional Youth Initiatives Support Fund "Digitalization of Russian Language Education in Mongolia".

During the implementation of the grant "Digital environment of the Russian language in Mongolia" in 2023, Mongolian teachers of Russian as a foreign language expressed the wish for the participation of students in the development of methodological and educational materials that would support and strengthen the interest of students not only in studying the Russian language but also in getting acquainted with Russian history and culture.

To meet this demand, the project will be implemented in several stages. In the first stage, the Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Support of Youth Initiatives will organize an introductory meeting for the project participants - Mongolian teachers of Russian as a foreign language, schoolchildren, where they will be introduced to Russian traditions and culture, and learn more about the project. The meeting will be held on July 8.

In the second stage, the project team will collect historical and cultural materials about Ekaterinburg, the Sverdlovsk region, and the Ural Federal University, which will later be used to develop an electronic teaching aid for the Russian language.

In the third stage, the project participants will develop an electronic methodological manual on the Russian language and create four promotional videos about higher education and life in Ekaterinburg, as well as visit sports, cultural, and historical places of the city and its suburbs. In the fourth stage, the participants will test the manual and the course.

As a result of the project implementation, it is planned to create an electronic methodical manual for teaching Russian as a foreign language. The project will also produce several promotional videos about higher education and life in Ekaterinburg: "Ekaterinburg Sports", "Ekaterinburg Culture", "Ekaterinburg History", and "Student Life at the Ural Federal University".
