Applicants Visited the New UrFU Campus

A team of teachers and students from the Graduate School of Economics and Management (GSEM) experimented at the university's new campus in the Novokoltsovsky district. As part of the project, students of the International Economics and Business program at UrFU GSEM developed a quest excursion for applicants to key places on the campus. Thanks to it, the students learned more about global campuses, their development economics, live laboratories, and features of the Novokoltsovsky model.

"The new UrFU campus will play a key role in forming a sustainable innovation economy in the region, provide training for highly qualified personnel, and create an international platform for scientific research and applied projects with business. That is why it is important to consider the opinions of the most diverse groups on its development," commented Zhanna Belyaeva, Academic Director of the UrFU School of Management and Interdisciplinary Studies.

More than 40 people visited all the infrastructure facilities of the campus.

"Very impressed with the campus, the ambiance of technology, and the future. It is immediately obvious that everything was done for the convenience of students and their comfort", said the participants.

Schoolchildren offered interesting ideas for the potential development of the new territory.

"Today we have seen in practice that such a format of user involvement can become the basis for making effective decisions on the development of the entire campus in the future," said Kristina Chukavina, Director of the Expert Analytical Center for Campus Development at UrFU.

One of the planned scientific and technological products of Novokoltsovsky will be a living laboratory of smart solutions for the urban environment. GSEM professors and students researched the best practices of Russian and foreign campuses to apply them in Novokoltsovsky. The applicants helped identify areas of work of interest to young people, such as flexible study and living options, and digital and sustainable solutions in campus infrastructure.
