The Second Season of the Reality Show About Science Started at the University

This year, participants are immersed in chemistry and art history

The Ural Federal University launched the second season of the Laboratorka science reality show. Four schoolchildren will learn about the university's laboratories, and how scientific research is conducted, and try themselves as young scientists in the field of applied chemistry and art history. The first episode is available on the university's social networks.

"The show's first season showed an excellent result - the participants entered UrFU, and the audience cheered for the guys and learned more about science at the university. This year we held a large-scale casting and selected the most curious and active guys from Ekaterinburg and the region, we expect that their projects will go beyond the show and will be available to all comers", say the organizers of the reality show at UrFU.

In the first episode, students get to know each other and their mentors and find out what projects they will have to do in eight weeks. Art historians will dive into the world of classical and contemporary art: they will learn what naive art is and make an exhibition of one of Ekaterinburg's artists. Chemists under the supervision of experienced scientists will try to make a real crown for a tooth. Traditionally, at the end of the project, the jury will decide which team did better.

The show is primarily designed for university applicants to show them the opportunities that Ural Federal University offers in science and study. The peculiarity of the project is that it is not the teachers who will talk about complicated things in simple language, but the applicants' peers.

The reality show about the scientific adventures of Ekaterinburg schoolchildren will last the whole summer, episodes will be released once a week.
