IRIT-RTF students will be able to study artificial intelligence in practice

In the new academic year, the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems (IRIT-RTF) UrFU in partnership with VK Education will open enrollment for the program "Applied Artificial Intelligence".

"Artificial intelligence is widely used not only in the IT field but also in areas far from advanced technologies. This suggests that specialists capable of creating AI-based systems and programs will be in high demand in the next decade. The AI program in partnership with VK allows applicants to get the most up-to-date knowledge in the field and become strong professionals," says Maxim Novikov, head of the IRIT-RTF UrFU educational program.

The academic program lasts four years, during which the students will study algorithms and data structures, the basics of programming in different languages, and acquire basic knowledge in statistics and mathematical modeling. A separate discipline "Project Workshop" is devoted to solving working problems in all areas.

"VK has been training personnel in promising IT specialties for more than 12 years with the country's leading universities. For us, this is an important contribution to the development of the entire industry, and, for students, it is an opportunity to gain applied competencies before entering the labor market. As part of our partnership with UrFU, we provide expertise from our VK Education line of business and the company's cases so that students can learn on real tasks and gain applied knowledge. Graduates will be able to work as artificial intelligence engineers, machine learning engineers, big data specialists, and Data Mining (data mining) specialists.

Students, who will be able to propose and develop their project in the field of artificial intelligence during their studies, will have the opportunity to defend their final qualification work in the "Startup as a Diploma" format.
