INNOPROM: Ural Federal University and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will collaborate in the sphere of building facilities of the Ural university technological cluster

The memorandum of building the facilities of the Ural university technological cluster was signed by UrFU Rector Viktor Koksharov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Alexandr Povalko, Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev and Chairman of UrFU Supervisory Committee Dmitry Pumpyansky on July 10 at the international industrial trade fair INNOPROM.

“We need a tight link between universities and enterprises,” said Viktor Koksharov during the roundtable discussion “Intellectual Capital in Russia: sources and ways of development”.

“We offer a format that is new to Russia. It is a technological cluster combining a university campus and an industrial enterprise. Thus the integrated system of knowledge reproduction will be established.”

Before the document was signed the experts had discussed key aspects of forming competitive potential and put forward concrete suggestions of developing intellectual technologies in Russia.

The participants of the discussion pointed out that the problem is many-sided and it is connected with a wide array of issues, from refresher training and cooperation between universities and enterprises in Russia to founding start-ups and creating an effective system of their financing.

The experts are sure that universities play the key role in developing the country’s intellectual potential, for it is the universities where the intellectual capital is formed.
