The university will cooperate with the leading Japanese manufacturer of equipment for industrial automation

Victor Koksharov and Marco Delaini signed an agreement on cooperation between Ural Federal University and the company "FANUC"

Ural Federal University continues to contribute to the solution of problems of the real sector of the Ural economy. An important step in this direction will be a partnership with the world's leading manufacturer of equipment for industrial automation, the company "FANUC". The relevant agreement was signed on February 10 by the Rector of Ural Federal University, Victor Koksharov, and CEO of "FANUC", Marco Delaini.

The agreement includes joint training of specialists for high-tech industries, development and deployment of robotic equipment of company "FANUC" at the industrial enterprises of the real sector of the economy of the Urals Federal District. In addition, it is planned to conduct joint activities in education field in order to prepare highly qualified personnel.

Currently, UrFU has started implementation of the project on the introduction of robotic equipment for automation of hazardous manufacturing operations in Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing. In particular, according to the consignment contract, the company "FANUC" will provide M20IA20M robot for a period of one year. In February 2015, 2 persons from UrFU and Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing will be send in order to pass free training course in the company. According to the the agreement signed in Nizhny Tagil, UrFU in collaboration with "FANUC" will establish a testing laboratory as part of a scientific and educational center on the base of UrFU Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
