Viсtor Koksharov was appointed the Rector of the University for the next five years

Victor Koksharov has been appointed the rector of Ural Federal University (UrFU) for a period of five years once again.

The order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 14.04.2015 № 657-p "About rector of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin'" was published on the official web portal of Legal Information of the Russian Federation.

The candidacy of Victor Koksharov was approved by the Supervisory Board of the University, the head of which is a graduate of UPI, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMK and “Sinara group”  Dmitry Pumpyanskiy. The Rector also enlisted the support of Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Sverdlovsk Region Governor, and Igor Kholmanskikh, the Presidential Envoy in the Ural Federal District.

Victor Koksharov became the Rector of UrFU on April 9, 2010. In 2007-2009, he was a head of Sverdlovsk region government; in 2004-2007 , he was the Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the region.
