UrFU Students made it to the Finals of the ACM-ICPC

Kirill Borozdin, Nikita Sivukhin and Vladimir Leskov took the tenth place in the semifinal

The team of programmers of the Department of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science of Ural Federal University took the 10th place in the XXII Northern Eurasia Contests. As a result of the competition, our team “Ural FU: Kek” (Kirill Borozdin, Nikita Sivukhin and Vladimir Leskov) and 15 other teams will participate in the finals of the ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest. Students will represent Russia in Beijing on April 15-20, 2018.

'I congratulate our team on reaching the finals. This is certainly a deserved reward for hard work. I wish them luck in China. I hope they will succeed’, said the executive director of the competition in the Ural Region, the senior lecturer of UrFU Department of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science Alexander Galperin.

There was a record number of teams from UrFU in the semifinals this year.  The university was represented by six teams (18 students): Ural FU: Kek, Ural FU: Mushrooms, Ural FU: Let’s play quals/qf/sf/wf, Ural FU: Adventure Kode, Ural FU: Ne Bez Pashi, Ural FU: Blinchiki Babushki Bilbo, which took 10, 31, 41, 72, 84 and 91 places respectively. All the teams returned to Ekaterinburg with certificates. In total, 243 teams took part in the semifinals, they competed in St. Petersburg, Alma-Ata, Barnaul and Tbilisi for the chance to reach the finals of the ACM-ICPC.
