The first Moscow International Ranking “Three University Missions” has been published

Ural Federal University is among the 13 Russian universities represented in the top 200 of the first national ranking "Three University Missions" published on December, 11.

"The existing world university rankings fail to reveal the relationships between higher educational institutions and the society, and their impact on the regional ecosystem”, says UrFU’s Rector Victor Koksharov. "The answers to these questions are given by the Moscow International Ranking."

The universities are ranked according to 17 indicators, reflecting the three main missions of the university in the modern world: "education" (weight 45%), "science" (25%), and "university and society" (30%).

Last Thursday, at a meeting of the board of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, said that the pilot ranking included 200 universities from 39 countries, of which only 13 universities are from Russia.

The order to create a national university ranking that would show the society, as well as the universities themselves, the state of affairs in the institutions in each area of ​​their activities was given by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2014.

The founders of the Moscow International Ranking "Three University Missions" are the Russian Union of Rectors and the Russian Academy of Sciences. The operator is the Association of Rankings Compilers, whose founders are the Expert RA Research Center, VTsIOM and other organizations.
