Second-year Student of Ural Power Engineering Institute Returns from Internship in Malaysia

Going abroad for the internship was the main prize of the annual competition “Student of the Year” at UrFU

On May 29, 2^nd-year student of Ural Power Engineering Institute Gleb Deryabin returned from Kuala Lumpur. He spent one week at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), the largest private university in Malaysia, which was founded by the oil and gas company of the same name. Gleb got an opportunity to do an internship as the prize-winner in the ceremony “Student of the Year 2017” that has already become a tradition at UrFU.

"This week I will never forget. The internship was excellent! I visited multiple research centers, completed laboratory work on harmonics, met students from all over Asia, learned about long-term opportunities for research and studies. I explored local culture and food and had enough time to visit the sights of Kuala Lumpur," said Gleb.

The internship program was developed within cooperation between UrFU and UTP international offices. It included short educational excursions to laboratories of the Department of Energy and Electronics, getting acquainted with doctors engaged in key research projects of the university, performing several laboratory works and getting to know the media center of the university.
