The repository of the university entered the top 100 best open archives in the world

In the new ranking Webometrics, it took 80th place in the number of documents in Google Scholar

The open archive of Ural Federal University took the 80th place in the world in the new ranking of Webometrics - Transparent Ranking of Repositories. The ranking takes into account the number of documents from the repositories indexed in Google Scholar, both in institutional repositories and in aggregators. Using this technique, the authors selected 1,000 of the best repositories.

'It's very honorable to take the 80th place in the world. There is only one of the aggregators above us in Russia. Among the same archives, which fill themselves, we are still the best in Russia. This fact confirms that we were and remain the best in the country quite deservedly. The position in the ranking shows a high level of quality of UrFU archive as a repository of scientific documents. This is a systematic daily work for many years. The archive perfectly describes the achievements of our university and present them to the world scientific community,' said Vice-Rector for Science Vladimir Kruzhaev.

According to the head of the department of information and analytical support of UrFU Elena Okhezina, at the moment the number of indexed documents in Google Scholar from the university's archive is 38 800 (about 80% of all documents in the archive).

‘To the 100th anniversary of the university, we are preparing a gift for our students, employees and graduates - the most complete collection of newspapers and magazines that were published at the university,’ said Ms. Okhezina. ‘Today the section "University newspapers and magazines" includes 24 collections of newspapers, beginning in 1921. The number of electronic copies of newspaper issues already exceeds 3,140 copies.’
