The Joint Board of Students is implementing a new project on the adaptation of international students

The number of international students at Ural Federal University is constantly growing, therefore university is in constant search for the most effective way to successfully integrate them into students’ community. This year, Joint Board of Students has won grant of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs for implementation of the project “International University”.

“International University” is aimed at creating conditions for accelerated process of integration and adaptation of international students through a complex of events, which help to straighten international cooperation, introduce students to the cultures and traditions of other. The project is especially relevant in today's difficult international environment.

The program include various events and activities, which will start on September 17.

Orientation Week will be an important adaptation stage for international students. Within 7 days, they will get involved in team-building activities, visit city and university tours, series of meetings explaining the rules and regulations of the university, presentations of student self-government bodies and key projects and services of the university.

The second block of events of the “International University” includes the screening of films in the original language, followed by discussion, the modeling of negotiations by UN principles, intellectual games in English.

Later the students will be invited to enroll in a month-long intensive course of one of 10 offered languages and attend classes, learn, practice skills, overcome language barriers.

The final event of the project will be the Festival “Friendship of Nations”, which will include sports, educational, intellectual and creative activities for foreign students.
