The exposition presents graphic sheets made in the ink art technique

The exhibition of Chinese artist Ma Jing Ruoshui "Hierographics" will open in the Department of Art and Socio-cultural Technologies on September 20. The exhibition will present the graphic sheets made by the artist in the ink art technique, with titles that are meant to guide the viewer's mind.

 "The first exhibition of the new season in the center of modern culture is an international project,” explains the curator of the Center for Contemporary Culture of UrFU Lev Shusharychev. - The works of Ma Jing Ruoshui are provided by the director of the “Cultural Transit” Foundation Yevgenia Nikitina, who knows the artist personally. He entrusted her to present his work in Russia. Yevgenia considered the Center for Contemporary Culture of UrFU a suitable place for such exhibition".

The Chinese artist and curator Ma Jing Ruoshui works with the tradition of calligraphy. On the one hand, he follows it by choosing antique paper and black ink, but on the other hand, he transforms it, inventing his own meanings. Each sheet is a specific message expressed in two ways: through the titles and through monochrome graphic forms.

The exhibition will open on September 20 at 17:30 at the Center for Contemporary Culture of the Department of Art and Socio-cultural technologies (Lenina Ave., 51, 4th floor). The exhibition is open until October 31. Admission is free.
