In the Times Higher Education ranking published today in the area of ​​Education, the Ural Federal was in the 401+ position.

“First of all, 'the jump' in the rankings was ensured by the growth of the amount of scientific publications on the subject,” comments Rector Koksharov. - Sumultaneously, a wide number articles were written by our scholars in collaboration with scientists from abroad. According to the Rector, it is important at the same time that the university’s efforts in the field of digitalization of education have also become the subject of scientific collaborations with foreign scientists.

“Generally, we can talk about the internationalization of this direction,” he said.

The relevance of the direction was timely evaluated at the Ural Institute of Humanities (UGI) of Ural Federal: a scientific group on the philosophy of education was created there, which will focus on research in this area.

“Many scientists publish their research in certain subject areas, nevertheless they get us points for the ranking by education. To make it clear, their studies may relate to education technologies and various issues of teaching in their subject areas. This fact suggests that our scientists try to implement a world-class educational process in our university,” said Elvira Symaniuk, director of the Ural Institute of Humanities.

In addition, E. Symanuik comments that a strong school of teaching Russian as a foreign language has been formed at the Ural Federal, and employees are actively publishing on aspects of digitalization of education and inclusion. Eventually, all of this played a significant role in the evaluations carried out by THE experts.

According to THE experts, the development of international educational programs, the university’s active cooperation with major Russian corporate employers, and a big number of science events contributed to the Ural Federal becoming one of the universities in Russia that were included in the ranking: Kazan Federal U (94), Lomonosov Moscow State U (201-250), Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytech U (301-400), Tomsk State U (401+).

THE World University Rankings provides an indexed analysis of indicators characterizing the quality of teaching and research, as well as the level of internationalization, income from innovations and citations of articles numbers. It is considered one of the most influential and valued global university rankings.
